How Endress+Hauser Promass Coriolis Flowmeters Work

Each flowmeter contains vibrating measuring tubes. When fluid moves through these tubes, the motion creates a twist due to inertia. Sensors detect this twist as a phase shift, which directly corresponds to mass flow.

Density is determined from the vibration frequency of the tubes, while temperature is measured for accurate compensation and is available as an additional output.
