SmartLine Level Transmitter uses Non Contact radar (NCR) 80 GHz FMCW technology and can measure the level of a wide range of liquid and Solid products on a large variety of installations within the stated pressure and temperature range.
The SmartLine® SLN700 Series Non Contact Radar Level Transmitters deliver value across the entire plant lifecycle by helping users:
The SmartLine® Non Contact Radar Level Transmitter employs the latest 80 GHz technology, modular design, an advance display, and intelligent false echo detection algorithms to deliver highly accurate level measurements and best-in-class performance.
The non contact design can measure a wide range of applications in liquid and solid level measurements with the stated pressure and temperature range. It can be utilized on process tanks, storage tanks, mobile containers, and bulk solid silos. This state of the art the level transmitter is capable of measuring media with a dielectric constant of 1.4 or greater. The integrated and encapsulated antenna designs allow for deployment in even narrow tank installations while still providing level measurement for liquids up to 30m and solids up to 120m.
The SLN700’s Principle of Operation utilizes an 80 GHz Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave or FMCW to make a highly accurate level measurement.
The SLN700 Series SmartLine® Non Contact Radar Level Transmitter offers:
Modular design:
Reducing inventory and enhancing flexibility
Rich, advanced display and local configuration capabilities:
In addition to configuring with any handheld device using the new DTMs, users can configure the transmitters through buttons on display
Integration with all control systems:
This includes seamless integration with Experion® PKS that provides extended diagnostics, maintenance status display and transmitter messaging.
Uses 80 GHz FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave) radar.
Narrow beam, small “blind zone” — good for tight / narrow tanks.
False-echo suppression capability to ignore unwanted reflections.
Because it’s non-contact, the sensor is less affected by media build-up, foaming, or variations.
Very good accuracy: ± 2 mm (per Honeywell spec) for many models.
High resolution for detailed level measurement.
Measuring range: up to 30 m for liquids, 120 m for solids (depending on configuration).
Can operate over a wide temperature range: –40 °C to +200 °C in many versions.
Pressure range: can handle down to −1 bar (vacuum) up to +25 bar for certain models.
Immune to many process interferences: temperature, pressure, dust, and most obstacles don’t significantly affect performance.
Dielectric constant: works for media with a dielectric constant ≥ ~1.4.
Modular design: electronic module can be replaced without replacing the entire unit → reduces spare-part inventory.
Small, encapsulated antenna → easy to install even in constrained or narrow nozzles.
Advanced local user interface: graphic LCD display + push-button configuration for zero, span, etc.
360° housing rotation: you can mount / orient the transmitter for optimal display visibility.
Standard analog output: 4–20 mA.
Digital protocols supported: HART and FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus.
Operating voltage: 12 to 30 V DC.
Built-in diagnostics: health monitoring, false-echo detection, and other check functions.
Modular electronics: can swap electronics in field with no loss of calibration or performance.
Compatible with Honeywell Experion PKS for deep integration: supports extended diagnostic messaging and maintenance-status indications.
