OPTISONIC 8300

Ultrasonic flowmeter for cryogenic or high-temperature gases and superheated steam

  • 2-path meter with optional mass flow and enthalpy calculation
  • Engineered for extreme temperatures: from measurement of BOG and other gases down to -200°C / -328°F to steam and boiler monitoring up to +593°C / +1100°F
  • DN100…1000 / 4…40″; max. PN250 / ASME Cl 2500
  • Large turndown ratio (60:1)

The OPTISONIC 8300 is a 2-path ultrasonic flowmeter designed for the measurement of gases under extreme temperature conditions (-200°C…+593°C / -328°F…+1100°F) and at elevated pressures (up to 200 bar / 2900 psi). This makes it a standard solution for boiler and power plant monitoring or as a steam billing device. With connected temperature and pressure sensors, the flowmeter’s integrated flow computer can also calculate steam mass flow or enthalpy. The OPTISONIC 8300 is equally well-suited for cryogenic gas applications, making it an ideal choice for boil-off gas (BOG) measurement or for flow measurement in air separation rectification (ASR) cold boxes.
