EJA130E Differential Pressure Transmitter

The EJA-E series of transmitters is Yokogawa’s most recent evolution of the DPharp family. Released in 2012, it combines the ruggedness and success of the work-horse EJA-E series with the performance of the thoroughbred EJX-A series to deliver the type of product you have come to expect from Yokogawa. The EJA130E is a differential pressure transmitter designed to work in a high static pressure enviroment.

Available with HART 5/7, 1 to 5 VDC HART 7 (Low Power), FOUNDATION FieldBus, PROFIBUS PA, or BRAIN communication.

EJA130E features include:

  • ± 0.055% Accuracy
  • ± 0.1% Stability per 10 years
  • 150 ms Response Time
  • 4,500 psi MWP
  • Exida and TUV SIL 2/3 Certified
  • Local Parameter Setting (LPS)

High Static Pressure Capability

Designed to operate reliably in very high static pressure environments — MWP (Maximum Working Pressure) up to 4,500 psi.

Over-pressure protection via the sensor capsule’s mechanical design.

Accurate DPharp Sensor

Uses a single-crystal silicon resonant sensor (DPharp) for very stable and accurate pressure measurement.

Reference accuracy

± 0.055% of the DP span.

Long-Term Stability

Very low drift: ± 0.1% of upper range limit (URL) over 10 years.

Good Response Time

Typical response time is 150 ms, making it relatively quick for changes in differential pressure.

Output & Communication Options

Standard output: 4–20 mA DC.

Communication protocols

HART 5 / HART 7, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS PA, and 15 V DC + HART Low Power.

Dual Measurement (MultiSensing)

Measures both differential pressure (DP) and static pressure (SP).

SP measurement can be shown on the local indicator or transmitted (via HART, BRAIN, etc.).

Diagnostics & SelfCheck

Built-in 40 self-diagnostic checks.

Backcheck Technology reverses internal calculations in real-time to verify measurement correctness.

Uses an active sensor: the sensor continuously outputs a signal, so loss of signal triggers fault detection.

Signal Characterization (Linearization)

10-point signal characterization: can adjust the 4–20 mA output to match non-linear relationships (e.g. for tank strapping or custom flow curves).

Functional Safety

Certified SIL 2 (single transmitter) and SIL 3 (redundant pair) by Exida / TÜV under IEC 61508 / 61511.

Robust Construction

4-bolt pressure-retaining body design for mechanical strength.

Wetted materials

options include Hastelloy C-276, stainless steel, Teflon-coated gaskets, depending on process requirements.

Dual-seal certified to ANSI / ISA 12.27.01 for safety.

Local Display / Indicator

LCD indicator: shows DP, SP, capsule temperature, alarms, and bar graph.

Display is on a separate circuit (not driven by 420 mA), so it works independently.

BiDirectional Flow

Supports bi-directional flow measurement when using HART (HART 5/7) or BRAIN protocol.

Features

  • Ideal for high static pressure applications (e.g. upstream oil & gas, highpressure steam, boiler feed).
  • Excellent long-term stability reduces calibration burden and cost.
  • Flexible communication and diagnostics make it easy to integrate and maintain in modern control systems.
  • Combined DP + SP measurement helps reduce the number of devices needed.
